These software modules allow users to easily capture design intent/logic in a 2D schematic, then develop 2D P&IDs into a comprehensive 3D model of a process plant.

Solid Edge P&ID Design uses automated processes to provide everything necessary to create pipelines, including built-in symbol libraries. Pipe specifications may be accessed at any design stage, and lists, reports, bills-of-materials and intelligent PDFs are easily generated. Features that are defined in P&ID can be easily placed into a 3D model to provide a complete modular plant design solution.

A powerful 3D pipeline planning solution, Solid Edge Piping Design enables the automatic generation of complete pipe systems by constructing and altering 3D pipe systems in 3D assembly groups. Solid Edge Piping Design integrates well with Solid Edge P&ID Design, allowing cross-highlighting between modules. Specific P&ID-to-3D functionality provides the user with an online or integrated connected between the P&ID and a 3D assembly, even in 3D sketch mode.

Solid Edge Piping Design provides automated 3D piping design with comprehensive 3D part libraries and fully automated isometric drawing output for plant design. This solution includes fully automated isometric drawing output via PCF format using integrated ISOGEN® functionality. Tubes and hoses of the same length in different assemblies—even if they are flexed differently—maintain the same BOM number, reducing erroneous manufacturing and ordering downstream. Solid Edge Piping Design also supports routing through parts, allowing faster packaging design, and flexible tube and hose design with a fixed length option.
