Electrical Routing in Solid Edge 2019
Electrical Routing in Solid Edge 2019
Our electrical routing solution is a dedicated, process-driven environment for creating, routing and organizing cables, wires and bundles. In this video, see how electrical routing capabilities allow design teams to collaborate to create complete and accurate digital mockups containing both mechanical and electrical components.
Solid Edge Electrical Routing links with Solid Edge Wiring and Solid Edge Harness Design tools, allowing your electro-mechanical design teams to create complete and accurate digital mockups containing both mechanical and electrical components.
Automatic electrical routing
Electrical engineers design a schematic that is sent to the Solid Edge 3D CAD environment. Harness details such as wires, connectors, terminals, splices and net lists are transferred and accessed with a simple click in the Solid Edge 3D CAD environment. Mechanical engineers can then work on the mechanical aspects of their design without worrying about changing associated wire harness information. Information flows between the electrical and mechanical worlds, enabling fast and easy collaboration.
A connected mode with Solid Edge Electrical Routing allows dynamic ECAD/MCAD collaboration with cross probing and dynamic updating between mechanical and electrical domains.
Once the design is complete, Solid Edge Electrical Routing exports ready-to-use net list files to the schematics so that the wires can be annotated with the lengths and use it for electrical analysis, e.g., voltage drop. This type of virtual prototyping removes the need for expensive physical prototypes.
