Tradition and avant-garde for a design “a la carte”

de Manincor

Design and project quality at Chef-proof!

An artisan company, active on the market since 1828, de Manincor has always distinguished itself in the area of professional kitchen machine production. For more than 170 years, its sole Trento factory not only creates home stoves and cooking surface, but it also designs large professional kitchens.

The long tradition that de Manincor has is combined with a large demand for contemporary and avant-garde design.

“For many years we have been very well appreciated in the field of large professional kitchen machine production,” says owner Walter de Manincor. “We create exclusive models, which can be combined with extreme flexibility to satisfy the needs of big and well known chefs.”

In fact, de Manincor production is distinguished not only by its perfect balance of form, solidity and material selection, but also by its extraordinary care for details and design.

Complex design of “unique” parts

During the last 10 years, de Manincor has faced problems regarding the growing development needs for its unique products and parts, and as a consequence it has been impossible to start industrializing the production process.

“The complexity and quality of our products means that parts precision and quality have become essential and indispensable characteristics,” says de Manicor. “Our design cycle foresees the passage from the draft project to the executive project, until it enters the factory and returns from assembling stations, within a timeframe of several weeks. And all this clashes with the market requirement, where the series production starts from prefabricated elements, which are stored and assembled on customer request.”

Design needs and the Solid Edge solution

“After careful observation and market analysis, we have selected Solid Edge from Siemens Digital Industries Software, since it meets our specific design needs,” says Silvano Marchi, production manager of de Manincor. “The deciding factors for our selection have been the simplicity and dynamics that the Siemens product offers us for the plate working.”

The use of Solid Edge allows de Manicor to create and visualize the product models directly in 3D in order to eliminate prototype production and reduce time-to-market.

Gianpaolo Businaro, development and design manager, explains in his own terms how Solid Edge® software has helped them and what it means for de Manincor prototype designs: “The ease with which a tinned plate component forms itself and grows, is then assembled and forms the basis for the construction of new components is mind blowing! Nothing is left to the imagination anymore! You can view it from all sides and take a section through it as if nothing happened! You see the problem areas and then go back and make changes and all is automatically updated! It is very easy to obtain mechanical details combined with the precision of a photograph. The prototype is available at the end of working with a coloring process and graphical rendering can also be animated!” de Manincor has found the 3D Solid Edge package easy to use and dynamic for its product and has benefited greatly in terms of time savings, precision, result and image and also for producing unique tailor-made parts.”
