Esprit – DP Technology

ESPRIT is a high-performance computer-aided manufacturing (CAM) system for a full range of machine tool applications. ESPRIT delivers powerful full-spectrum programming for 2–5 axis milling, 2–22 axis turning, 2–5 axis wire EDM, multitasking mill-turn machining, and B-axis machine tools.

ESPRIT’s multitasking component provides powerful capabilities for driving mill-turn machines, multi-axis lathes, and Swiss-style machine tools. ESPRIT provides synchronization of simultaneous cutting cycles using any combination of turrets and spindles for milling or turning, factory-certified post processors for all the leading multitasking machine tools, and dynamic solid simulations for dry run verification of the machining processes.

The ESPRIT CAM system reflects over 20 years of research and development, and ESPRIT’s partnerships with the world’s premiere machine tool builders confirm the leading position ESPRIT has earned in the CAM software market. CNC programmers in every manufacturing sector, from medical to aerospace, rely on ESPRIT to meet their demanding machine tool programming requirements.

Solutions

ESPRIT users are able to open native Solid Edge files, thereby ensuring a high-quality, seamless transition from CAD to CAM software that’s built to maintain the integrity of any design. The ease of interoperability between ESPRIT and Solid Edge paves the way for accurate data transfers that ultimately translate to accuracy and ease in manufacturing.

ESPRIT provides users with ESPRIT FX™, which is the latest in advanced CAD to CAM feature exchange technology. Going beyond transferring just the part geometry, the FX™ technology provides portions of the original Solid Edge Feature Tree directly inside the ESPRIT user interface thereby including the complete original design intent – features, tolerances, material properties, surface finishes, administrative data, etc.

Synergy

ESPRIT and Solid Edge both utilize the Parasolid modeling kernel. This means direct exchange of design models from Solid Edge into ESPRIT, eliminating translation. Within ESPRIT, all machining is performed directly on the solid model as designed, assuring integrity of the final part. ESPRIT’s adaptive connection to Solid Edge means any changes in the Solid Edge model are reflected inside ESPRIT and the G-code program.

ESPRIT Solid Simulation and Verification dry runs part programs on the computer to verify accuracy before actual machining. View your design on screen within the entire machining environment, including fixtures, clamps, and stock material. Everything is clearly rendered in dynamic 3D solid images. ESPRIT then accurately simulates every machine movement ensuring accurate G-code.
